After 11 agonisingly long years, British alt-rockers Placebo have finally announced their first full headline tour, 20 Years of Placebo. Featuring a highly-anticipated return to Australia, the band has promised a setlist of their greatest hits.
“We’re happy to be coming back to Australia this September to deliver fans something extra special,” says frontman, Molko. “Let’s just say there will be songs in the set that I’ve sworn never to play again.”
“This tour is very much for the fans and a chance for us to revisit a lot of our early material,” Molko continues. “So, if you want to see us play songs like ‘Pure Morning’ and ‘Nancy Boy’, which we haven’t played in almost ten years and may not play again, then you’d better come along to these shows! We’ll have some surprises in there too.”
This tour marks the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album and will take to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle, and Canberra starting in September with a yet-to-be-announced supporting act.
The pre-sale goes live on 12PM Friday May 26 and general tickets are available from May 29 here!
