Revelations Film Festival Needs Our Help

All cinephiles recognise the most famous independent film festivals from around the globe – Sundance, Toronto, Cannes – but growing up as a lover of cinema in the city of Perth, Western Australia, one independent film festival overshadows the rest: Revelations.

Starting out life as an experimental idea in 1997, Revelations Film Festival has blossomed into Australia’s biggest independent film festival, showcasing many internationally recognised cinematic works to Australian audiences. Inspiring and progressive, the festival has always expressed a deeply infectious adoration for film and filmmakers alike.

This year is Revelations’ 20th anniversary and the organisers want to celebrate in style, with a stellar roster of the best independent works the world has to offer. There’s but one problem: funding for the film festival is currently too short for such a venture.

This is where we, the public, come in. Donations are imperative to the success of this year’s festival. Reaching the $20,000 goal will provide the festival with a myriad of goodies like live music, a 16mm micro-cinema, architectural projections and much more, not to mention the filmmaking talent it will attract.

The history of this magnificent film festival speaks for itself. Its legacy is evident in the rapidly growing movie industry, and many a burgeoning filmmaker has RevFest to thank dearly for their support. To preserve this event and keep it providing for the Perth community and its many aspiring filmmakers, we must put in the effort to help it. Any donations great or small will be greatly appreciated. Let’s help out RevFest!
