Something wicked this way comes to Perth this Friday night.
Conceived as a sideshow for some of the bigger acts playing Hyperfest on Saturday, local and national shredders representing many sides of Australia’s heavy music community will congregate to wreak havoc upon Capitol for Raised In The City.
One of the most exciting additions to the bill is undoubtably The Love Junkies. Returning to the Capitol for their first show of the year with their franticly infectious brand of grungey alternative rock that has seen them enjoying local prominence for some years now.
Since the release of their endearing 2013 debut, Maybelene, The Love Junkies have been a local favourite. Handpicked by Triple J as one of the Top 20 Aussie artists to watch for 2014, an impressive run of shows and touring including time in the US has followed and the promise of an anticipated new album this year should have you more excited than ever to get hooked on The Love Junkies.
The event will host some of the best heavy acts in the country, headlined by heroic dive bar thrashers DZ Deathrays. Who dropped a ripper new single “Blood On My Leather” less than a week ago.
Sharing the bill with East Coast punk favourites Luca Brasi and Trophy Eyes and local Garage legends Foam, Raised In The City is shaping up to be a truly special event for Perthlings appreciative of all things loud and sweaty.
Friday night. Capitol. Do yourself a favour.
