Legendary British singer-songwriter Cat Stevens will return to Australia at the tail end of 2017 for his Peace Train Tour, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his 1967 debut album, Matthew & Son.
Stevens, who legally changed his name to Yusuf Islam in the late 1970s upon entering a phase in his life centered on spirituality and charitable works, is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of our time, penning classics such as ‘Father & Son’, ‘(Remember the Days of the) Old Schoolyard’, ‘Moonshadow’, ‘Wild World’… the list goes on.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee kicks off his Australian tour at Perth Arena come November 22nd, before performances at Adelaide’s Botanic Park, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Hunter Valley’s Roche Estate, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, and finally Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
Set to be only his second time performing in Australia in over 40 years, the Peace Train Tour is truly one that can’t be missed. Tickets available via ticketek from 10am Wednesday, April 5.
