Welcome to WAMFest. With a packed program featuring over a hundred talented artists, it might be hard to find your bearings at first, so we’ve picked out some WAM events you should definitely make time for this weekend.
The third season of the Perth Theatre Trust & RTR FM’s free live music series Courtyard Club is up and running just in time for WAMFest. Kick back and enjoy sounds from some of Perth’s freshest indie rock, alt pop, and electronica acts. This first installment in the eight-week series will feature Catlips (DJ), Lana, Our Man in Berlin, Phocal, Puck, and RAG N’ BONE.
Prepare yourselves as three of Perth’s best hardcore-tinged, indie rock bands launch their latest singles. Get ready for Sail On! Sail On! to launch “No Thieves” from their debut album, Split Cities to release their second single “Keep Quiet” from their upcoming album, and Odlaw to launch another single “Chumps” from their up and coming album. With support from Wooly Mammoth, it’s going to be hectic from start to finish. Don’t miss out— grab a presale ticket online, or at the door on the night.
If you’re a part of the music industry or thinking about joining it, WAMCon is the conference to be at. Over two days, there will be 72 international, national and local speakers imparting their wisdom of the music industry to you. Feel inspired as they discuss global trends and opportunities, and begin networking and making connections that will go beyond WAMFest.
