Pakenham Street Art Space presents The State Collection, where the art is in your hands. This exhibition asked the public to anonymously submit an A4-sized artwork exploring Western Australian identity, landscapes and a sense of place. These artworks will be available to purchase on the opening night, starting from $20, with all proceeds Community Arts Network. Be sure not to miss this homegrown showcase!

When November rolls around, we know it’s time to celebrate the WA music scene the best way we know how: with four days of countless live acts and shows, a two-day conference, one night of awards, and an overall party of a weekend happening all over Perth city. Welcome to WAMFest. With a packed program featuring over a hundred talented artists, it might be hard to find your bearings at first, so we’ve picked out some WAM events you should definitely make time for this weekend.


4th November, 4:30pm | Courtyard Club Week 1 | State Theatre Centre WA | Free

The third season of the Perth Theatre Trust & RTR FM’s free live music series Courtyard Club is up and running just in time for WAMFest. Kick back and enjoy sounds from some of Perth’s freshest indie rock, alt pop, and electronica acts. This first installment in the eight-week series will feature Catlips (DJ), Lana, Our Man in Berlin, Phocal, Puck, and RAG N’ BONE.


4th November, 8pm | WAMFest Triple Single Launch | Jimmy’s Den, Northbridge | $10

Prepare yourselves as three of Perth’s best hardcore-tinged, indie rock bands launch their latest singles. Get ready for Sail On! Sail On! to launch “No Thieves” from their debut album, Split Cities to release their second single “Keep Quiet” from their upcoming album, and Odlaw to launch another single “Chumps” from their up and coming album. If you’re a part of the music industry or thinking about joining it, WAMCon is the conference to be at. Over two days, there will be 72 international, national and local speakers imparting their wisdom of the music industry to you. Feel inspired as they discuss global trends and opportunities, and begin networking and making connections that will go beyond WAMFest.

Saturday is the day for music lovers. Immerse yourselves in a heap of great local acts happening in an array of bars and outdoor locations around Northbridge! Sway to Human Buoy, Golden String and Jacob Diamond at The Bird; dance to Figurehead, Young Robin and Segue Safari at the all ages PICA Amphitheatre; enter another time & space with Psychedelic Porn Crumpets at Jimmy’s Den; go hard or go home with POW Negro at the Block Party.
